Lei Tin Iok, who is
locally known as "Old Tin", has dedicated his life to photography for more than
half a century. At the age of 86, Lei continues to take pictures of the Macau
scenery with such passion that he captures moments that become unforgettable
memories of this small city. Between 1949 and 1970 many archways were founded to
commemorate the National Day of the PRC. During the evening of the National Day
there were remarkable celebration performances under the blazing lightings of
the pailous. It gradually gained domestic authenticity. Being captured by Old
Tin, these celebrations turned into precious images that reveal a sense of
culture and reflect locals?patriotism towards their motherland.
