Sio In Leong was born in Macao in 1951. He has participated
in exhibitions in Macao, China, Portugal, Japan and Hong Kong. He was finalist
of the 7th and 8th Chinese National Painting Exhibitions
and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Macao
Biennial Art Exhibitions. His individual exhibition "Sio
In Leong’s Life" was held in 1992. He won the Prize of
Excellency in the Macao Young Artists Fine Arts Exhibition in 1985 and the Prize
of Honour in Occidental Painting in the XV Collective Exhibition of Macao
Artists in 1995. He is currently the Director of the Macao Artist Society.
Sio In Leong’s realistic style conveys his earnest and
thoughtful character. Old memories are moulded into new characters, new
anecdotes and new objects that are artistically portrayed with very simple
external concept and a touch of realism. The message that lies behind the
artist’s works is the endless cycle of life. |
